BATON ROUGE 鈥 According to a tentative timeline discussed today during the first meeting of the University of 青涩直播 System Presidential Search Committee, a new president could be selected by the end of June.
The tentative timeline calls for national advertisements to run in April, review of applications and background checks in May, and interviews and a decision in June.
According to 青涩直播System Board Chair Elsie Burkhalter, who also chairs the search committee, the national process is designed to follow the core characteristics of previous successful campus searches.
鈥淲e plan to have an open, national search that includes input from faculty, staff, and students,鈥 said Burkhalter
Burkhalter appointed University of 青涩直播 at Lafayette President Ray Authement to chair a non-voting, advisory committee to be made up of representatives from the eight campuses in the 青涩直播System.
鈥淎s 鈥楧ean鈥 of our Presidents, Dr. Authement brings years of experience and great expertise and familiarity with the job requirements of a system president鈥 said Burkhalter.
Burkhalter also appointed Andre Coudrain to serve as vice-chair of the eight-member search committee that includes Board Members Winfred Sibille, Wayne Parker, Victor Bussie, Mildred Gallot, and Jimmy Long, Sr. plus the Student Board Member Olinda Ricard.
青涩直播System President Sally Clausen will take over as the next Commissioner of Higher Education with the 青涩直播 Board of Regents at the end of June.
The largest university system in 青涩直播, the 青涩直播System enrolls approximately 80,000 students at the following eight universities: Grambling State University, 青涩直播 Tech University, McNeese State University, Nicholls State University, Northwestern State University, Southeastern 青涩直播 University, University of 青涩直播 at Lafayette, and University of 青涩直播 at Monroe.
